TOP 10

Here is a list of my 10 favorite books!

01 The Dawn of Civilisation

My number one book, is a coffee book that is great for sitting rooms. Its called the Dawn of Civilisation and it is from prehistory to 900 Bc. I highly recommend this book to people who do not know enough about history. Even I, as a tour guide at Fulham Palace, was surprised about the fountain of knowledge this book has to offer.

02 99% Ape How Evolution Adds Up

I strongly recommend this book if you were not brave enough to read The Origins of Species by Charles Darwin. I think this puts that tome in baby language so that anyone can understand. Charles Darwin was mocked for suggesting that humans have apes for ancestors. Every scientific advance in the study of life in the last 150 years has confirmed the reality of Evolution. This is a must read book as it supports and clarifies this groundbreaking research.

03 Sword and Scimitar by Simon Scarrow

Fantastically woven demi-history of the Great Siege of Malta in 1565 by an expanding Ottoman Empire's Turkish fleet.

04 Kappillian of Malta by Nicholas Montserrat

Another great book, focusing on yet another Siege of Malta, but this time in 1940-1942, and with airplanes! Circumnavigating six major events from Malta's history this book tells of the indomitable fighting spirit of the Maltese.

05 The Silk Roads by Peter Frankopan

From China to Jerusalem, an expansive search into the socio-political and economic history of the far east and the emergence of trade along the Silk Road.

06 The Age of Kings and Khans

I would also sponsor the book called the age of Kings and Khans. I have always had a interest in the medieval kingdoms. This is a gripping read and you shall feel more enlightened after reading this books.

07 King Solomon's Mines by Henry Rider Haggard

This book is about Allan Quartermain's adventures in Africa and his discovery of the diamond mines which once belonged to Solomon.

08 Blood by Chris Cooper

This is a short introduction on the history of Blood, as a historian one needs perspective. This books lends perspective on how people understood blood throughout history.

09 Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde

A man who makes a deal with devil and never ages. How? Why? And where do all of the tell-tale signs of his immoral ways hide away while he cavorts across opium-laced London. Will his sins ever catch up with him, you will just have to read the book to find out...

10 Agincourt by Bernard Cornwell

One of the most famous battles of all time, Agincourt, tell the story of the victory of a small and sickly army against an enemy of far greater number and resources. Expertly written and a gripping read from start to finish. Unputdownable!
