The Palace of Lambeth is steeped in rich religious history, it has been the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury since ages past. The Palace is my favourite palace in London as it has so much history. It can be compared to Fulham Palace as they both have extensive religious history. Lambeth Palace architecture is unique as its very ancient and sacred. It is the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury whilst in London.
The palace library is amazing, like a great hall. The chequered floors were mesmerising. It is hard to believe that it was a banquet hall before it became a library. The library had held ancient books that go back to the great fire of London. The ceiling of the Library is breathtaking. My favourite room in the palace was the library as it served dual purposes as a banquet hall and as a library.
Lambeth Palace is a impressive palace to visit. The architecture is amazing and original features. The main purpose of the palace is that it belongs to the Church and covers a lot of religious history. Lambeth is very sacred to the church of England and it has a wonderful garden thats right in the centre of London.
The throne room that I am sitting in is used for private events such as conferences. The roof beams are all originally made. The palace itself has always had a rich history because of its location, on the banks of the river Thames. As is always the case in London its "location location location"!
